Qian Yan

Qian in Note-Taker T-shirtQian is a product designer with a particular interest in the design of intuitive user interfaces. He wants to pursue a career where he works closely with engineers to develop products that are seen as simple but elegant solutions to real problems. In joining the Note-Taker team, Qian wanted to gain experience working with engineers, and to learn more about the process of usability testing. He was responsible for planning and conducting the usability testing on the 3rd generation and 4th generation Note-Taker prototypes. Qian also created a video to make the public aware of the Note-Taker project. His Note-Taker video is currently posted on both YouTube and on the Chinese Youku video service. (The latter provides exposure inside China, where residents do not have access to YouTube.) Qian also designed this Note-Taker project website, to tell the story of the Note-Taker project. Qian spent the summer of 2012 interning for Alfa Quantitative Investment as a designer, and has now accepted a position with them in California.
